Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies completed their weekend conferences matches with today's match against Oklahoma City University Stars, who are currently tied for 1
st in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Aggies lost in three to the Stars after a hard-fought battle. The Aggies showed continuous fight throughout the match, causing the Stars to call all time-outs each set. Aggies hitting .213 on the match and causing the Stars to hit .299 below their average. Senior setters
Lesly Galarza and
Celenia De Leon Toribio had 15 assists respectively each and 5 digs each.
Junior middles
Keera Parks and
Ebony Dykes provided a great offensive threat for the Aggies; Parks hitting .250 and Dykes hitting .333. In addition, each showed cased a blocking presence at the net. Outside hitter,
Essence West was unstoppable with 10 kills, hitting .273 and, having 8 digs and a block assist. And, rightside hitter
Eduarda Souza had 4 kills on 9 attempts, hitting .444.
Defensively, the Aggies held their own as well. Libero
Mckenna Coppock had 7 digs,
Gracie Soza with 5 digs and
Avery Turner 4 digs.
Next up for the Aggies will be to hit the road to compete against Central Christian College (Kan) on October 8
th and Langston University (Okla) on October 9
th.
