GOODWELL, Okla. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University volleyball battled back from two sets down to force a fifth and deciding set, before falling 3-2 to John Brown University in a Sooner Athletic Conference match at home. The Aggies (9-3, 4-2 SAC) fell by set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 22-25, 16-14 to the Golden Eagles (5-1, 4-1 SAC) in a rousing Homecoming Weekend contest.
Both teams hit well, with JBU at .211 and OPSU at .189 for the match. Panhandle's front made 12.0 blocks, while permitting 9.0 for the Golden Eagles.
Essence West rolled up 19 kills and had a .279 attack average for the evening. West also had 10 digs and a pair of blocks.
Rebecca Candido added 13 kills and five digs.
Celenia Toribio's 10 kills was the Aggies third double-figure kills total. Toribio had a match-leading 39 assists, while also making 14 digs and six blocks.
Sydnee Saunders had nine kills, five digs and a pair of blocks.

Gracie Soza had a team-leading 17 digs to go along with six digs.
Ashley Sanchez contributed 12 digs and
McKenna Coppock nine.
Ebony Dykes matched Toribio for the team high with six blocks.
Eduarda Souza had three blocks.
