WAXHACHIE, Texas – Oklahoma Panhandle State University volleyball suffered its third-straight loss on Friday, dropping a 3-1 decision at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. The Aggies (9-4, 4-3 SAC) lost by set scores of 25-21, 15-25, 17-25, 19-25) to the Lady Lions.
After hitting .240 in the opening set win, OPSU would hit .108, .182 and .104 in the next three sets. Conversely, SAGU hit .053 in the opening set loss, but bounced back to win the next three with attack averages of .262, .520 and .231.
Essence West once again had the hot hand for the Aggies' attack. West rolled up a match-leading 17 kills and hit .22 for the evening. She also had a match-high 15 digs.
Freshman
Ana Pimenta was the only other Panhandle player with double-digit kill totals, booking 11. No other OPSU player amassed more than four kills in the match.
Setter
Celenia Toribio had 24 assists, four kills, 10 dig and five blocks. Lesley Galarza had 14 assists and five digs.
Ashley Sanchez chipped in 11 digs in the back row.
Ebony Dykes and
Eduarda Souza had four and three blocks, respectively, out of the Aggies 7.0 blocks as a unit.
