Box Score WOODWARD, Okla. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University baseball took a respite from its conference schedule and rolled to a 19-8 win over Southern Nazarene University at Fuller Ballpark. The Aggies (8-15) smacked 18 hits in the win over the NCAA II Storm, posting a "W" for the third time in the past four games.
Matters were never much in doubt in the neutral-site game. Panhandle State led 8-4 after two innings, 12-4 after four and 18-6 after five frames. The contest was halted after seven innings by the run rule.
Every Aggie starter had a hit in the game. Six players had multiple hits, 10 total hits by OPSU's first four batters in the lineup.
Leadoff man
Mekhi Edwards went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and three runs batted in. No. 2-batter
Chris Schraer and No. 3-man
Markus Bracey were both 3-for-6. Bracey had a double, triple and scored twice, along with two RBI.
Clean-up batter
Lane Field was 2-for-5, scoring three runs and driving in two. Field slugged his fourth home run of the season in the second inning.
Brothers Sam and
Tucker Bond were a combined 5-for-8, batting No. 6 and No. 8, respectively. Sam was 2-for-3, scored three times, drove in two and drew a pair of walks. Tucker was 3-for-4, with a double, home run and four RBI.
Junior right-hander
Zeke Dougan got the victory with 5.0 innings of work. Dougan permitted nine hits and struck out four Storm batters, without issuing a walk.
Austin Jacobs and
Josiah Roundtree each threw an inning of relief. Each struck out two SNU batters, as well.
