Aggies dominate the Evangels in doubleheader

Goodwell, Okla.- Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies win the doubleheader verses Mid-American Christian University. The Aggies won game one to the Evangels by a score of 14-1. And, continued the success into game two with a win; score of 7-6 at the Carroll Gribble Stadium. 
 
In game one, the Aggies took an early lead, in the second inning, when Chris Schrarer, hits a homerun and brings in a runner; score 2-0. By the 4th inning, the Aggies had completed 6 hits, and 7 runs; extending the Aggie lead to 8-1 over the Evangels. The Aggies continued their offensive success in both the 5th and 6th innings scoring 3 runs in each. 
 
OPSU starting pitcher, senior, right-handed pitcher, Austin Jacobs is credited with the Aggies win; pitched 7 innings and producing 9 strike-outs, 1 earned run, 4 hits and 1 walk. 
 
Game 1 highlights- 
Fifth year senior, outfielder, Chris Schrarer provided the Aggies with 2 home-runs & 3 RBIs.
Freshman, 1st basemen, Tucker Bond was utilized as a designated hitter verses the Evangels and provided the Aggie's with 1 triple and 3 runs.  
Junior, infielder, Logan Patterson provided the Aggies at bat with 1 triple and 1 single. 
Junior, 2nd baseman, Luis Dermas consistent at bat with 3 runs, 1 double, and 1 RBI.
Senior, catcher, Zack Madrigal, provided the Aggies at bat with 1 double, and 2 RBIs.  
 
Game 2 highlights-
Evangels jumped out to an early lead with two runs by the second inning. The Aggies kept the intensity with a defensive shut out in the 3rd inning. MACU was not afforded any opportunities to get a runner on base. The Aggies were aggressive at bat in the bottom bringing in 4 runs to put the Aggies in the lead 4-2.
MACU made a play at bat in the top of the 7th but fell short in taking the lead with 3 runs. The Aggies swept the double header with a 2nd game score of 7-6. 
RF Jose Santiago led the Aggies in game 2 with 4 total RBIs. 
Three Aggies batting at .500 in the 2nd game were Lane Field, Jose Santiago, and DH Tucker Bond. The Aggies overall batted a 0.370 on the day.
