GOODWELL, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie Volleyball Team finished out the weekend, playing Central Christian College (KS) this afternoon in Anchor D. Arena. The Aggies swept the Tigers in three straight sets: 25-12, 25-9, 25-12.
The Aggies maintained control of the game from the first set till the end of the match, due to the aggressive serves, unstoppable defense, and strong execution of offense.
Nora Castillo came in and provided the Aggies with 2 aces as well as defensive specialist
Kayla Bembry with 2 aces. The Aggies had 7 aces on the night where the Tigers had zero.
In addition to the service line, the Aggies out dug the Tigers 48 to 35. Leaders for the Aggies in the backrow were
Ashley Sanchez with 11 digs, McKenna Coppock with 8 and
Lesly Galarza with 7.
The offense was led by
Lesly Galarza who had 21 assists and Celenia De Leon with 10 assists, each who capitalized on the talents of their teammates,
Zoe Fry,
Keera Parks,
Eduarda Souza,
Rebecca Candido,
Olivia Cunningham and
Idalisia Agbaosi.

Julie Allen said "it was great to get kills, digs and, aces from many Aggies on the roster, today. I am proud of the team." Allen continued on sharing about an Aggie first; the hitters today were fantastic; in set 2 the Aggies had 15 kills 0 errors on 24 attempts; hitting .625 as a team."
On the match against the Tigers, Aggies showcased double digit kills in each set and 3 errors overall in the match. Fry had 9 kills, hitting .409, Parks had 5 kills, hitting .833, Souza 5 kills, hitting .556, Candido with 5 kills, hitting .308, Cunningham had 7 kills, hitting .636 and, Agbaosi with 4 kills, hitting .600.
Aggies will be back in action in Anchor D. Arena next weekend. On Friday, September 10
th at 6 pm, the Aggies take on University of Science and Arts. And, on Saturday, September 11
th at 12:00 pm, the Aggies take on Mid-American Christian University.
