GOODWELL, Okla. – Earlier this afternoon, the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies volleyball team played host to the Central Christian College of Kansas Tigers in what would be the Aggies' final home match of the season. As it was the Aggies' senior day, they showed their support for
Rebecca Candido,
Essence West,
Ebony Dykes, and
Gracie Soza by celebrating them.
Lesly Galarza and
Ashley Sanchez completed their final season as well, getting the opportunity to play this extra season due to covid. The Aggies were dominant against the Tigers and won all three sets without dropping a single game.
In the first set, the Aggies had 14 kills, in the second they had 13 kills with no errors, and in the third they increased the pressure with 17 kills. The Aggies had a combined hitting average of.291, while the Tigers could only muster a.059 hitting percentage in their matchup. In addition to their aggressive play on offense, the Aggies displayed the same level of intensity at the serving line. The Aggies recorded six service aces against zero errors.

Julie Allen shared, "It was a great day for the Aggies. I am very pleased with how the team performed, as they did an excellent job of living in the present and making the most of the day. Also, many thanks to all of our seniors."
Lesly Galarza and
Remi Vargas both contributed to the Aggies' success as setters. Galarza recorded 20 assists in setting, nine digs, and two aces on the service line. Vargas finished the match with seven set assists, six digs, and one ace serve. In the third set,
Mia Sanchez served as the setter for the Aggies and produced six set assists in addition to four digs.
Joelle LaForce and
Essence West were the two hitters for the Aggies who each recorded ten or more kills in the offensive department. On 27 attempts, Joelle LaForce had 15 kills and didn't make a single mistake. Against the Tigers, she had a hitting average of.556.
Essence West recorded ten kills and twelve digs, giving her a double-double in the match. In addition to this, West hit.267 against the Tigers while also contributing three solo blocks throughout the game.
Bryanna Rosario had six kills for the Aggies and hit.556 while
Angela Youngs contributed seven kills and two solo blocks to the team's total.
Ebony Dykes contributed four kills, a.214 hitting percentage, and two solo blocks to the team's total. And
Laren Baldowsky contributed two kills and a solo block to the team's total.
Gracie Soza,
Essence West, and
Ashley Sanchez led the Aggies' defense. Soza finished the match with 24 digs, eight assists, and one service ace to contribute to the Aggies' victory. West came up with 12 digs, and Sanchez had 11 digs in addition to two service aces.
Next week will mark the end of conference play for the Sooner Athletic Conference, also known as the SAC. The final week of the season for the Aggies will be spent away from home competing against Southwestern College and Oklahoma City University.
