GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggies men's basketball team traveled to Oklahoma City to take on Mid-America Christian University Saturday night.
The last time these two teams met was on December 1st, in which the Aggies would lose in a close battle 70-73.
In the contest's first half, the Aggies and the Evangels would be at a back-and-forth showdown. At the 13:47 mark, Senior
Rayquan Elliott would hit a three-pointer to make the score 12-4. The Evangels would tie the game 20-20 at the 8:25 mark, and the Aggies would close out the half on an 8-3 run, scoring 43-32 Aggies. This would be the first time the Aggies lead heading into halftime on the road this season.
In the second half of the game, the Aggies would hold their lead, moving up by ten at the 13:35 mark from a three-pointer made by Freshman
Fedja Cukle. The Aggies would see their lead shrink with under 5:00 left in the game. Aggies and Evangels would play it down to the final few seconds left in the game, and the Evangels would sink in a three-pointer to go up by three. The very next play, Junior
Joe Greaves would make a spectacular layup as he got fouled, Greaves would complete his free throw to tie the game at 79-79, and the Aggies would see the Evangels take the final shot going in to win the game, but the Aggies fell 79-82.
Aggies will play at Wayland Baptist University on January 31st; tip-off will be at 7:45 PM.
