Equestrian Team Collects Two 5th Place Finishes at West Texas A&M

Oklahoma Panhandle State University Equestrian Team recently showcased their prowess at the two-day equestrian show held at West Texas A&M University. Under the guidance of Coach Kacey Ward, the team's performance was nothing short of outstanding.

With a strong representation of 12 skilled riders competing across 16 diverse classes each day, the team made an impressive mark. On the initial day of competition, Saturday the 18th, the team secured a commendable 5th place overall while also boasting 7 individual placings. Notably, Junior Paige Pearson and Freshman Jolina Demann demonstrated their expertise, clinching first place in their respective Western Horsemanship classes, setting an early tone for the team's success.

The momentum continued into the second day of competition, Sunday the 19th, where the team replicated their 5th place finish. Their performance was marked by an impressive 11 individual placings. Pearson once again exhibited her skill, securing a well-deserved second place, while Nahomy Corral-Olivas added to the team's triumph with a third-place finish.

Coach Kacey Ward expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, citing their dedication and hard work. "The team finished the fall show season off strong," Ward commented, "and will be channeling this momentum into an even more robust spring season."
