Box Score Oklahoma Panhandle State University women's volleyball team gave it their all in a fierce showdown against Texas Wesleyan in the first round of the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Tournament. Despite their determination and heart, the Aggies fell short, ending their season on a bittersweet note.
The match began with a closely contested first set, where OPSU fought but eventually lost 25-19. The Aggies displayed their prowess at the net with 8 kills, but the Rams outmatched them with 13 kills of their own, ultimately clinching the set.
The second set proved to be a tougher challenge, as OPSU faced a resolute Texas Wesleyan team. The Aggies struggled to find their rhythm, and the Rams capitalized on this, securing the set 25-11.Â
In the final set, Texas Wesleyan continued to assert their dominance, closing out the match with a score of 25-14. OPSU gave it their all, but they were ultimately unable to overcome their opponents in this SAC Tournament clash.
Joelle LaForce, in her last game as an Aggie, led the team with 7 kills, demonstrating her dedication and skill on the court. Kensey Clifton was instrumental in setting up the offense with 11 assists, while Nyah Ulmer contributed 9 assists alongside her 10 crucial digs.
On the defensive front, Alanah Best recorded 2 blocks during the match. In the back row, Mia Sanchez shone with an impressive 16 digs.
Taylore Alsaid was another key player for OPSU, contributing 13 digs, 3 kills, and 1 block to the team's efforts.
While OPSU's journey in the SAC Tournament has come to an end, the team can hold their heads high knowing they put up a spirited fight throughout the season.
