Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) women's basketball team faced John Brown University (JBU). OPSU succumbed to JBU, resulting in a final score of 75-28.
The first quarter showcased the Aggies' determination as they fought valiantly, ending with a score of 22-10 in favor of John Brown University. The second quarter proved to be challenging for OPSU, with John Brown displaying exceptional shooting skills, boasting a 60% success rate from beyond the arc and a 64% shooting accuracy from the field. The halftime score reflected the uphill battle for the Aggies, with OPSU trailing at 18 points while JBU dominated with 43.
Diana Santos emerged as a standout player for OPSU, leading the team with 10 points and contributing four rebounds. Jana Radovanovic secured seven rebounds and four blocks. Julia Pacheco, coming off the bench, made an impact with four rebounds and three blocks.
Looking ahead, OPSU will continue their road trip, facing Oklahoma City University on Saturday, December 9th, at 2:00 PM.
Reflecting on the challenging loss, Head Coach Maria Wiltzius expressed "Today we didn't come ready to compete. It's been an up and down couple of weeks for the girls, but going out and competing at a high level together should be the mindset every night. There can't be 'off' nights mentally in this league."
