GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggies baseball team, and the Wayland Baptist University Pioneers faced off in a three-game series this past weekend. The Aggies fell to the Pioneers in all three games (5-11)(3-7) and (7-20)
Game One
The Pioneers would take the early lead going up 4-0 in the top of the first inning.
Junior
Ryota Kusumoto managed to go 2-4 for the Aggies with one run batted in.
Junior
Jeremy Dibartolomeo scored two runners in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Aggies had a frustrating offensive day leaving six runners on base unable to convert them into runs.Â
Sophomore
Tate Nebhut started on the mound for the Aggies, pitching two innings and allowing four hits and four runs. Five pitchers came into relief during the game.Â
Game TwoÂ
It would be a pitching duel between both teams. Junior
Justin Santos started on the mound for the Aggies, and both pitchers recorded four scoreless innings combining for fourteen strikeouts. Â
Pioneers scored four runs in the top of the 5th inning to pull away from the Aggies.Â
Senior
Tucker Bond mashed his second home run of the season, driving in
Jeremy Dibartolomeo.Â
Six different Aggies recorded a hit in the game.Â
Game ThreeÂ
Despite a two-run home run game from Senior
Tucker Bond, the Aggies fell to the Pioneers 7-20.
Bond was the story going 2 for 4 at the dish with four RBIs.Â
Junior
Jett Brown tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the second inning, launching a solo shot, his second home run of the season.Â
Freshman
Esai Torres started on the mound for the Aggies and struggled in his two innings of work, allowing eight earned on five hits.
Aggies will head to Oklahoma City to face Oklahoma City University on March 24th first pitch at 3:00 PM.Â
