Aggies drop series to Lions

GOODWELL, OK-The Aggies baseball team hosted Southwestern Assemblies of God University this past weekend, and the Aggies fell in a three-game against the Lions.

Game One: Junior Jhonn Cabrera would be the only player to record the two hits the Aggies managed. Lions would take the lead and the game in the second inning to go up 7-0. Junior Braeden LeJarraga took the mound for the Aggies tossing two innings allowing nine hits and seven runs. Five different Aggies appeared from the bullpen Jorge Rijo, Tyler Nebhut, Brandon Rodriguez, Braden Greene, and Tate Nebhut. 

Game Two: Senior Tucker Bond tied the game in the first inning, hitting a double down the left field line to score Jeremy Dibartolomeo. The Lions responded in the third and the fourth inning to go up 4-1. Junior Jose Arrieta homered to deep left-center field in the sixth, knocking home his first home run of the season. Junior Justin Santos started on the hill for the Aggies tossing six innings, allowing seven hits and four runners, and mowing down eight batters. 

Game Three: In the final series match, the Aggies fell 5-11. Junior Jeremy Dibartolomeo hit a three-run shot to the left-center field to go up 3-2 in the bottom of the first inning. Freshman Alejandro Hernandez hit his first home run of the season to go up 4-2 in the second inning. Hernandez would also knock in a run in the third inning to increase the lead to 5-3. The Lions would score four runs in the fifth inning, going up 7-5 to secure the win.

Freshman Esai Torres started on the hill for the Aggies, tossing five and one-third innings allowing seven hits and eight runs.

The Aggies will conclude the regular season on Friday, April 28th, as they face University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma first pitch at 1:00 PM.
