Box Score The Panhandle State University volleyball team engaged in an electrifying Sooner Athletic Conference showdown against John Brown University that stretched into an intense five-set match.

The opening set was a dramatic back-and-forth affair, with OPSU briefly falling behind 17-14.
However, the Aggies rallied impressively, staging a comeback with three consecutive kills, including two from
Bryanna Rosario and one from
Ava Newby, to level the score at 17-17. Despite their valiant efforts, OPSU narrowly lost the first set with a final score of 27-25.

The second and third sets saw OPSU finding their momentum and executing the game plan, clinching both sets with identical scores of 25-23. Notably,
Mia Sanchez accumulated an impressive 37 assists during the match.

The fourth set, however, saw John Brown University's relentless attacks at the net, leading them to a victory and pushing the match into a thrilling fifth set, played up to 15 points.
In the final set, OPSU found themselves trailing 6-3 when Rosario delivered a pivotal kill, reinvigorating the team and shifting the momentum back in favor of the Aggies. Sanchez displayed her versatility by executing a crucial dump kill, earning another valuable point for the team. Nevertheless, John Brown ultimately sealed the deal, capitalizing on OPSU's errors.

In the digging department, Sanchez led the way with an impressive 15 digs. Rosario and Newby were the offensive powerhouses, each contributing 11 kills, while
Joelle LaForce and
Alanah Best added 7 of their own. Best proved to be a formidable defensive presence with 3 critical blocks during the match. Head Coach
Nick Serowski had this to say on his team's performance tonight and what he saw from the team, "I saw a team that played well in the preseason but did not perform in Kansas, we have an opportunity to compete in this conference if that team that showed up tonight keeps showing up."
