After a challenging but promising 2023 season, the Aggies are gearing up under the leadership of Coach Shawn Joy, entering his impressive fifth season at the helm.
Despite a tough run last year, the Aggies showcased their potential with a historic victory over Oklahoma City University, marking the first time in program history that they secured a win against OCU. This win serves as a testament to the team's determination and progress.
The upcoming season is packed with exhilarating matchups and opportunities for the Aggies to demonstrate their prowess on the field. Kicking off the season, OPSU heads to Phoenix, AZ for the Coach Calderone Invitational from January 25th-27th. The team faces tough competition, including SAU American Indian College, Arizona Christian University, Benedictine, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Returning home, the Aggies have a series of thrilling games lined up, hosting York University, University of the Southwest, and Peru State College in early February. A significant highlight will be the Amarillo trip on February 23rd-24th at Hodegtown, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles, where they'll battle New Mexico Highland University.
Conference play kicks off in March, starting with matchups against Southwestern Christian University and a noon conference matchup against Southern Nazarene University. The team hits the road for challenging encounters against Wayland Baptist University and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
The mid-March homestand is not to be missed, with pivotal games against Oklahoma City University, Mid America Christian University, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and the much-anticipated Senior weekend on April 5th-6th.
April continues to test the Aggies as they face Southwestern Assemblies of God University, University of Science and Arts, and Central Christian College on the road. The season culminates with the SAC Conference Tournament from May 3rd-6th, offering a chance for redemption and a shot at glory.
