GOODWELL,Okla-The Aggies faced a tough challenge against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a 74-111 loss to the Drovers.
The game began with promising moments for the Aggies as Vyson Miller's three-pointer, at the 11:51 mark in the first half, brought the team within 3 points of the Drovers. However, despite this effort, the Drovers managed to capitalize on their momentum, embarking on a 13-point run that shifted the game's dynamics.
Vyson Miller emerged as a standout performer for the Aggies, contributing significantly with 17 points and three rebounds, showcasing his skill and determination on the court.
While the team showcased resilience and bench depth, collectively shooting at 41% from the floor and scoring an impressive 45 points off the bench, it wasn't enough to overcome the Drovers' strong performance.
After the game head coach Charles Belt stated"Humbling! For our entire team! We've done a great job battling in this conference and tonight we got hit with a full blown buzz saw! For me personally I see why coaches don't coach 2 basketball teams. The capacity to mentally handle both is intense! I'll be a way better coach because of these last 2 weeks, but trying to emotionally get up and focused for 2 full games is a real challenge! Good news is it's only 1 game! You're never as bad as you think, and you're never as good as you think. I'm sure our guys will be happy they don't have to "share" Coach Belt as we lock back in and look forward to playing back at home."
Looking ahead, the Aggies will regroup and prepare for their upcoming conference matchup against UNT-Dallas on January 11th. The team is gearing up to bring their A-game for this pivotal game scheduled for an 8:00 PM tip-off at home.
