Goodwell, OK – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies volleyball team put up a spirited fight. Still, it fell short against Oklahoma City University in three competitive sets. The Stars won with 25-19, 25-17, and 25-19.
Aggies senior standout Taylore Alsaid led the offensive charge with 10 kills, while Ava Newby added 7 kills and Taylor Silva contributed 5. Silva also shined at the service line with two aces, while Alsaid chipped in 1.
Defensively, Brenna Moore anchored the net with 4.0 blocks, while Alsaid and Newby each recorded 2.0 blocks. Setter Mia Sanchez was a key playmaker, dishing out 20 assists while leading the team with 16 digs. Alsaid added ten digs, and Teagan Mendoza-Werner contributed 5.
Coach Myers praised the Aggies' energy but noted room for improvement. "We came out with a ton of energy and had some fun," Coach Myers said. "However, we just hit a couple of roadblocks that took us too long to recover from. Our plan for Southwestern Christian University is to play with the same intensity we start with throughout all three matches and finish what we start."
