Goodwell, Okla– Despite two early goals from
Ayoup Bader, the men's soccer team could not hold off Texas Wesleyan University, falling 4-2 in their final road conference game of the 2024 season.
The Aggies came out strong in the first half, with Bader netting his first goal at the 17:35 mark, assisted by
David Rubio. Two minutes later, Bader struck again, putting OPSU up 2-0. However, the Rams quickly responded, scoring twice before halftime to level the score at 2-2.
In the second half, the Rams took the lead, scoring in the 51st and 83rd minutes, making the final score 4-2.
The Aggies were outshot 18-8, with the Rams putting seven shots on goal to the Aggies' three. Goalkeeper
Aron Kanyai made three saves.
The Aggies will return to Anchor D Stadium for their next match against John Brown University on Saturday, October 26, at 3:00 PM.
