Jalen Partida reached a landmark moment by recording his 100th career reception, making him the first Aggie to achieve this since Andrew Hernandez accomplished the feat between 2013 and 2016. Partida added three catches for 32 yards in the game, contributing to the Aggies' offensive drive.
Brandon Stephens also made his mark on the program's record books, setting a new career record for passing touchdowns. His three-touchdown performance raised his total to 58, surpassing Caleb Holbrook's record of 56. Stephens completed 15 of 29 passes for 208 yards, with two long scoring strikes to wide receiver
Draylon Roberson.
The Aggies started the game strong, with
Carlos Vazquez scoring a 32-yard field goal to put OPSU on the board first.
Texas College responded early in the second quarter with a field goal and an 11-yard touchdown run to take the lead. However, Stephens quickly connected with Roberson on a 71-yard touchdown pass to reclaim a 10-9 advantage for the Aggies. Texas College surged ahead before halftime, scoring twice more to extend their lead to 23-10. In the third quarter, Stephens and Roberson combined again, this time on a 46-yard touchdown, to keep the Aggies within striking distance. D'Kyri Williams after a 17-play, 93-yard drive to close the scoring gap to 30-24.
Martin Blake contributed to the Aggies' ground attack with 89 yards on 18 carries. Roberson also had a standout game with 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns on seven catches, including the 71-yard score that kept the Aggies in contention.
Looking ahead, the Aggies will return to Anchor D Stadium at Carl Wooten Field for their next home game, a 2:00 PM matchup against North American University.
