Goodwell, Okla. – The Aggies football team earned a decisive 38-3 victory over North American University on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup. This game marked the second meeting between the two teams, with the Aggies previously defeating the Stallions 57-0 on October 28, 2023.
Aggies standout Martin Blake made OPSU history with an impressive 253 all-purpose yards, breaking the previous record 244 set by Chris McClendon against Langston University on September 15, 2015.
Brandon Stephens led the passing game with 11 completions on 20 attempts for 237 yards, including three touchdowns and a long pass of 85 yards. The Aggies' rushing attack was powered by Blake's 135 yards on 16 carries, scoring two touchdowns and averaging 8.4 yards per carry.
Teandre Newcomb and Draylon Roberson added 27 and 23 yards, respectively, helping the Aggies rack up 226 rushing yards on 32 attempts, averaging an impressive 7.1 yards per carry.
The receiving corps also played a crucial role, with Blake catching two passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by his 85-yard catch-and-run. Jalen Partida contributed with four receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown, rounding out a productive receiving game that saw the Aggies total 237 yards and three touchdowns through the air.
The Aggies' defense was equally dominant, led by Maurice Johnson with six total tackles, including five solo stops. Charles Holmes added four tackles, one forced fumble, and an interception, while Treyveon Houston and Aaron Acosta-Lewis each contributed with interceptions. The defense held North American to only 179 passing yards and 73 rushing yards, allowing just one field goal over four quarters.
Scoring began in the first quarter with Blake's 9-yard rushing touchdown. Moments later, Blake struck again with an 85-yard touchdown reception from Stephens. The second quarter saw another connection between Stephens and Blake for a 33-yard touchdown pass, while in the third quarter, Blake added his second rushing touchdown from 20 yards out.
Carlos Vazquez extended the lead with a 33-yard field goal, and in the final quarter, Stephens connected with Partida on a 23-yard touchdown pass to seal the game.
The Aggies look to build on this momentum as they return to Sooner Athletic Conference action. They will face Nelson University in Waxahachie, Texas, on November 9, with kickoff set for 2:00 p.m.
