Goodwell, OK – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie volleyball team fought intensely but ultimately fell short against Wayland Baptist University, dropping a tight four-set match (22-25, 23-25, 25-20, 20-25). The Aggies displayed impressive skill and determination, pushing the Pioneers in each set and keeping fans on the edge of their seats in Anchor D Arena.
Ava Newby led the Aggies offensively, recording 17 kills in a standout performance, closely followed by Taylor Silva, who contributed 16 kills. Brenna Moore also added to the Aggie attack with seven kills, helping keep the team competitive throughout the match. Silva showed versatility as a critical asset on both sides of the ball, adding two service aces and an impressive 15 digs, while Moore contributed a service ace and led the team in blocks with 3.
Aggie setter Nyah Ulmer orchestrated the offense precisely, totaling 38 assists and adding 14 digs to her stat line. Teagan Mendoza-Werner anchored the defense alongside Ulmer and Silva, each recording 14 digs, making for an admirable team effort against a challenging opponent.
