Goodwell, Okla.— The Oklahoma Panhandle State University volleyball team showed their grit and determination in a thrilling five-set match against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Despite a strong effort, the Aggies fell short in a heartbreaking 3-2 loss (20-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-23, 14-16).
The Aggies started slow, dropping the first two sets to a resilient USAO team, but displayed their fighting spirit by storming back to take the third and fourth sets. In the decisive fifth set, both teams exchanged powerful rallies, but the Drovers narrowly edged out the Aggies 16-14 to secure the victory.
Panhandle State's offensive attack was led by Ava Newby, who recorded 20 kills. Taylor Silva followed with 19 kills, and Taylore Alsaid with 15. Nyah Ulmer was pivotal in setting up the offense, dishing out an impressive 49 assists.
The Aggies also showcased their versatility and depth on defense. Teagan Mendoza-Werner anchored the back line with 25 digs, while Silva and Alsaid provided solid defensive support.
Emma Coburn was a force at the net with four team-leading blocks, while Brenna Moore and Cami Kenny each contributed three blocks to stifle the Drovers' attack.
