Goodwell, Okla—The men's basketball team opened their 2024-25 home season with an impressive 82-73 victory over Northern New Mexico College. The Aggies honored veterans and military members during the game.
After the first half, the Aggies trailed 31-34 at halftime but turned the game around in the second half with a surge, scoring 51 points to secure the win.
Amaree Brown's remarkable performance led the team. He came off the bench to post a game-high 29 points, shooting an efficient 9-11 from the field. Brown hit all four three-point attempts and went 7-9 from the free-throw line.
Kyle Belgrave II also made a significant impact, scoring 14 points on 6-9 shooting and contributing six rebounds.
Kensington Grant-Brown added to the scoring with eight points, hitting both of his three-point shots, while
PJ Daniels put up six points and pulled down four rebounds.
The Aggies improved their shooting in the second half, converting over 60% of their field goals and hitting 85.7% from the free-throw line.
With this victory, the Aggies advance to a 2-1 record and will open conference play on Thursday, November 14, against Central Christian College (Kan.) at 8:00 PM in the Anchor D Arena at Oscar Williams Field House.
