Goodwell, Okla– Men's cross country team concluded their season at the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship, hosted by Oklahoma City University. Battling challenging conditions on a soft and muddy course due to recent rain, the Aggies delivered a resilient performance, finishing 7th overall in a competitive field.
Leading the Aggies was Trevor Youngblood, who secured a top-20 finish with an impressive time of 27:17.35, placing him in 24th. Arturo Vallejo followed up with a personal record of 29:28.05, helping OPSU stay competitive in the team standings. Bramhan Matschek clocked in at 31:00.92, while Colby Perez crossed the line at 31:22.08.
Reflecting on the season finale, Head Coach Cyrus Hall expressed pride in the team's effort and tenacity: "I thought we ran pretty well today, especially given the soft and muddy course conditions. We tied for 6th with Nelson University but finished 7th due to the tiebreaker. Trevor ran awesome, really pushing for an all-conference finish. Arturo had a huge day with a 30-second PR, which was crucial for us to stay in the standings."
