GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State has named cross country runners
Shania Chavez and
Trevor Youngblood as the Aggies of the week for their performances spanning from Sept. 8-14.
Chavez broke the cross-country program's 4-kilometer record this past weekend with a time of 15:37.4 at the 2025 Mustang Derby in Wichita Falls, Texas. Chavez's electric performance placed her 17
th overall and first among any SAC competitors at the event. Her time and accolades helped lift the Zuni, New Mexico, native to SAC Runner of the Week honors.
Youngblood in that same notion, broke a school record of his own in the 6k with a time of 20:17.9 at the Mustang Derby. His performance led the Aggies and put him 29
th overall of 74. His performance earned the praise of his coach,
Cyrus Hall.
"Trevor ran really, really well today, he's starting to look like the Trevor we know and expect to have. He got after it today and ran a really good time."
