Oklahoma Panhandle State University women's basketball team faced a formidable challenge in their recent game against the Langston Lions. The Aggies entered the matchup with determination and a halftime lead of 26-25.
However, the third quarter proved to be a turning point as OPSU struggled, giving up 20 points to the Lions. The fourth quarter further posed challenges for the Aggies, with Langston scoring an additional 24 points. Despite their best efforts, the Aggies could not keep up, ultimately falling to the Lions with a final score of 69-49.
Langston Lions capitalized on opportunities, scoring a combined 50 points from turnovers and second-chance opportunities. The Aggies faced difficulties handling the Lions' pressure, resulting in 20 fewer field goal attempts than their opponents.
Sierra Tate led the Aggies in scoring with an impressive performance, contributing 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Heidi Rodriguez showcased her shooting skills with 14 points, going 4-9 from beyond the arc, and also grabbing 4 rebounds.
The team now looks ahead to their upcoming challenge as they travel to face Southwestern Assemblies of God on February 22 at 6 PM.
