Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) Men's Basketball team faced off against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) last night. Unfortunately, the Aggies couldn't secure the victory, succumbing to a final score of 95-76.
The first half saw OPSU trailing 50-39 at halftime, but the team displayed resilience in the second half, cutting the deficit to as close as 9 points at the 2:50 minute mark. However, the strong offensive performance of SAGU proved insurmountable for the Aggies.
Head Coach Charles Belt, reflecting on the game, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance throughout the month of February. Despite having nothing tangible to play for, the Aggies showcased relentless determination. Coach Belt remarked, "I've been really happy with how we've played in the month of February. With one game remaining I expect our guys to leave it all on the line! I know how badly they want to reap the reward of their hard work! Personally, I'm really proud of their fight. We have nothing to play for and yet these guys keep giving all they have with no quit!"
Leading the scoring charge for OPSU was Abduhl Diaby, contributing 22 points and 8 rebounds. Joe Greaves also had a notable performance, securing 17 points and 7 rebounds.
With the regular season coming to a close, the Aggies are gearing up for their final game on Saturday, February 24, at 4 PM against UNT-Dallas.
