Goodwell, Okla—The OPSU Aggies baseball team faced Wayland Baptist University on Sunday afternoon. In a single nine-inning game, the Aggies secured an 18-1 victory over the Pioneers.
The momentum shifted in favor of the Aggies in the third inning when
Ryota Kusumoto blasted a homer, setting the tone with a 1-0 lead. From there, the Aggies continued their ruthless offensive onslaught, scoring in the fourth inning and exploding with a massive 6-run fifth inning, followed by another 6-run surge in the seventh inning.
Tucker Bond arose as a standout performer, finishing 3-5 at the plate, including a homer and a double, while tallying an impressive seven RBIs.
Colby Diduch delivered a stellar performance on the pitching front, earning his first win. Diduch showcased his prowess on the mound, pitching a complete game, tossing seven innings, and allowing just one run off of two hits. He struck out an impressive 13 batters.
This game would mark the Aggies' most significant margin of victory. The win ended a seven-game skid against the Pioneers. The last time the Aggies won in Plainview was on March 26, 2021.

Looking ahead, the OPSU Aggies will travel to Alva, OK, for a one-game series against Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday, March 12. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
