Goodwell, OK – The Aggies Baseball team took a moment to pause and honor its graduating athletes today in a Senior Day ceremony filled with emotions and appreciation. The Aggies celebrated 15 senior student-athletes who have been integral to the team's successes over their collegiate careers.
The Aggies allowed three runs in the opening inning, creating an early deficit.
Jeremy Dibartolomeo singled in the 6th inning, which drove in Isaac Halton, and a critical play by
Jose Arrieta in the 7th inning, reaching first on an error and bringing in Ryan Kusumoto.
Pitcher
Esai Torres threw for six innings with zero earned runs due to the defensive errors that marred the scoreboard.
Zach Mayhew offered solid relief, allowing only one run over three innings.
After the series, head coach
Shawn Joy said, "We worked hard all weekend, just made a few too many mistakes. No moral victories here; we wanted that series".
The Aggies are on the road, preparing for a pivotal three-game conference series against Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX, scheduled for April 12th and 13th.
