Goodwell,OK-The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its prestigious All-Academic Athletes and Teams for the 2024 NAIA Track & Field season.
Men's Track & Field All-Academic Athletes
To earn the title of All-Academic Athlete, student-athletes must meet rigorous academic and athletic standards. They must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition. Institutions using different GPA scales are required to convert their scores to a 4.0 scale using a standard conversion method. Additionally, athletes must complete at least 24 semester or 36 quarter hours at their institution and achieve an automatic or provisional qualifying markr relay events for in individual o indoor or outdoor season.
OPSU is proud to announce that three outstanding men's track and field athletes have earned this distinction: Dillon Bruington, Kamron Neal Austin White.
Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team
The OPSU Women's Track & Field team has also been recognized as an All-Academic Team, meeting the criteria of having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
The criteria for computing the cumulative GPA involve:
- Totaling the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes, including the most recent grading period.
- Totaling the cumulative number of quality points earned by all student-athletes, including the most recent grading period.
- Dividing the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.
OPSU's Women's Track & Field team achieved an impressive team GPA of 3.3.
