Goodwell,Okla-OPSU Aggie women's volleyball team encountered a challenging day on the court, suffering losses to Bethel College and Briar Cliff University in today's matches.
In their first match of the day, the Aggies fell to Bethel College.
Taylor Silva and Ava Newby led the team with 9 kills each, while Brenna Moore added 3. Silva and Mia Sanchez each recorded 1 ace, and Moore, Cami Kenny, and Newby each had 1 block.Ā
Sanchez also contributed 19 assists, with Nyah Ulmer adding 6. Taylore Alsaid was a defensive standout with 15 digs, followed by Sanchez with 8 and Ulmer with 6.
The Aggies faced another tough opponent in their second match, falling to Briar Cliff University.Ā
Ava Newby led the Aggies with 12 kills, supported by Brenna Moore with 11 and Taylore Alsaid with 8. Mia Sanchez, Nyah Ulmer, and Teagan Mendoza-Werner each recorded 2 aces. Moore and Kenny contributed 2 blocks each, while Newby added 1.Ā
Sanchez led with 21 assists, Ulmer had 17, and Mendoza-Werner added 6. Defensively, Alsaid recorded 23 digs, Mendoza-Werner had 20, and Ulmer added 11.
