Goodwell, OK – August 21, 2024 – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies volleyball team is off to a stellar start this season, securing impressive victories in their recent matches. The Aggies defeated Calvary Bible College and Bethany College with 3-1 scores.
In their first match against Calvary Bible College, the Aggies demonstrated a dominating performance with scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-7, and 25-21. Ava Newby led the team with 19.5 points and 17 kills, while Taylore Alsaid and Brenna Moore added significant contributions with 13.5 and 10.5 points.
The team's collective effort was evident in their strong attack and defensive plays, ultimately outpacing Calvary Bible College in all facets of the game.
Following their success against Calvary Bible, the Aggies took another 3-1 victory over Bethany College. The match saw the Aggies secure 25-21, 14-25, 25-18, and 25-11. Taylor Silva tallied 10.5 points, and Ava Newby added 12.5 points.
Head Coach Ilani Myers praised the team: "We put our heads down and did the dirty work. That's when we're the best, and I saw the fruits of that today. These wins were great, but we still have much work."
