Goodwell, OK – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie Volleyball team showcased resilience and determination, coming from behind to defeat Southwestern Christian University in four sets (18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-16).
After a slow start in the first set, the Aggies found their groove and delivered clutch performances to turn the tide. With strong showings in the final three sets, OPSU secured their victory, improving their season record.
Set one saw Southwestern Christian capitalize on an early lead. The Aggies fought back in the second set, powered by a balanced attack and improved defense. Key contributions came from Taylor Silva, who led the team with 14 kills and a match-high 22 digs, and Taylore Alsaid, who added ten kills and 17 digs. Brenna Moore chipped in 10 kills and two blocks, while Mia Sanchez was instrumental with four service aces. Nyah Ulmer led the team in assists with 18, while Sanchez contributed 16 more. Defensively, Silva and Alsaid were joined by Teagan Mendoza-Werner, who collected 13 digs to anchor the Aggies' back line.
Head coach Ilani Myers expressed her pride in the team's performance, stating, "It was great to see our resilience and ability to push through adversity. We recovered quickly and took control in the fourth set."
