Goodwell, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies women's soccer team faced a tough 2-0 loss at home against Adams State University. Despite a strong effort, the Aggies could not break through Adams State's defense, leaving the match scoreless.
Adams State opened the scoring in the first half, giving them a 1-0 advantage at halftime. They doubled their lead in the second half. The Aggies' defense, anchored by goalkeeper AlaraLynn Gunderson, worked hard throughout the match. Gunderson recorded an impressive ten saves, facing 16 total shots, 12 of which were on target. Offensively, the Aggies struggled to create opportunities, managing just two shots during the match, with Cayla Hoch registering the team's only shot on goal.
OPSU head coach Ken McAlpine remained optimistic despite the result. "We had a lot of good opportunities to score during this game," McAlpine said. "We gave up some goals we aren't happy with, but we see a way to score and win against good teams. We learned a lot from this game and will build on that heading into our next game."
