Men's Basketball:Kyle Belgrave II Powers Aggies Past Drovers

Goodwell, Okla. – The Aggies men's basketball team secured a historic 80-58 victory over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) Drovers on Thursday night at Anchor D Arena. The Aggies earned their first home win against the Drovers and snapped a nine-game losing streak dating back to January 24, 2019.

The Aggies lost to USAO in a double-overtime thriller earlier this season in Chickasha, 85-86, on December 16, 2024.

Key Performances

Kyle Belgrave II delivered a standout performance, recording his first double-double of the season with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and a season-high five blocks. Belgrave set the tone on both ends of the floor, anchoring the Aggies' defense, which recorded a season-high 11 blocked shots as a team.

Amaree Brown led all scorers with 23 points, hitting three three-pointers and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Mike Carter added 17 points and seven rebounds.

Game Highlights

The Aggies came out strong in the first half, building an early lead with key plays like a jumper by Brown and a three-pointer from PJ Daniels to push the margin to double digits. The Aggies led 33-22 at halftime.

The Aggies continued their offensive efficiency in the second half, shooting 68.2% from the field. Jerry Abushanab hit a clutch three-pointer with 9:05 remaining to stretch the Aggies' lead to 18 points, effectively sealing the game. The Aggies' largest lead came at 25 points with just over a minute left in the game.
