Box Score 4 Goodwell, OK- Aggies baseball team opened their 2025 season with a strong showing at the Coach Calderone Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona, finishing 2-2 over the weekend. On Friday night, the Aggies highlighted their trip with a 5-3 victory over Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) and an 11-5 win over Nelson University (Ariz.).
Aggies 5, Embry-Riddle 3
In their matchup against Embry-Riddle, the Aggies were led by a balanced offensive attack and solid pitching. OPSU broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with a three-run rally sparked by Ryota Kusumoto's RBI double and capped by Devin Lopez's RBI single. The Aggies added two more runs in the sixth inning thanks to a bases-loaded walk by Kobe Morgan and a sacrifice fly from Isaiah Halton.
Colby Diduch earned the win on the mound, throwing four strong innings with six strikeouts while allowing two earned runs. Juan Javier secured the save.
"Lots to be excited about from our program this weekend in Arizona," said head coach Jared Mayeda. "We are looking to build on our success and take it into next weekend at home."

The Aggies return to Goodwell, Oklahoma, this weekend to host York University (Neb.) in a four-game series at Carroll Gribble Field:
