OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Equestrian Team started the 2025-26 season strong at its first show of the year — the Southern Nazarene University Spooky Spectacular in Oklahoma City. The team placed fourth overall on Day 1 and fifth overall on Day 2, competing among a large field of talented riders.
Eva Johnson led the way with standout performances both days. She finished as the fourth High Point Rider on Day 1 with a second place in Reining and third place in Open Horsemanship, and followed up as the third High Point Rider on Day 2 with second place finishes in both Reining and Open Horsemanship.

Kacey Ward shared her pride in the team's strong showing.
"I'm so proud of how everyone performed," Ward said. "With a record number of entries — over 150 rides each day — our team really held their own and looked great. We can't wait to keep practicing and come back even stronger!"
