OKLAHOMA CITY — For the third consecutive week, Oklahoma Panhandle State volleyball was well represented in the SAC Athletes of the Week from Oct. 20-26, as
Elena Kagiali and
Taylore Alsaid collected the honors as an attacker and defender, respectively.
The awards follow a pair of home sweeps for OPSU, in which it extended a run of dominant play that has seen the Aggies notch a .200 hitting percentage or higher in seven straight matches.
Kagiali's nod is her third straight, with the awards sandwiching a National Athlete of the Week honor. In the weekend sweeps over Central Christian and Langston, Kagiali totaled 30 kills for a 5.0 kill/set average on a .364 hitting percentage. She added 19 digs and a block to round out her week.
Alsaid, meanwhile, earned her first career SAC weekly award by way of averaging six digs per set in the two victories.
The junior's performance was highlighted by a 20-dig effort versus Central Christian on Friday. She also helped the offense with six kills, five aces and three assists over the weekend.
OPSU volleyball has racked up eight weekly SAC awards this season, which is more than all Aggies fall sports team combined for in 2024. The count for SAC Athlete of the Week honors across all OPSU Athletics in 2025-26 is up to 13.
Kagiali, Alsaid and the Aggies (14-11, 12-6 SAC) look to finish their regular season strong with a four-match road trip beginning Friday at Science & Arts (16-11, 10-8).
