ALVA, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's and women's rodeo teams both took fifth place at Northwestern Oklahoma State from Oct. 30-Nov. 1, highlighted by star showings from the Women's All-Around Champion, Camree Slavin, and the first-place finisher in the average in tie-down roping, Porter Hall.

The women's team collectively had its second best placement of the season, taking fifth overall amongst nine teams that finished with points (17 schools total). OPSU's total of 143.33 was not far from Southeastern's and Northwestern's fourth and third-place finishes, respectively, at 150.00 and 165.00.

The men, meanwhile, narrowly missed out on fourth place by 15.00 points. 17 total schools competed, including 12 that finished with points.

Men's Performances
Hall earned first place in the average of tie-down roping by winning the long round with a time of 10.5 seconds. He then stopped the clock at 12.6 seconds in the short-go to grab third place in the round.

Zane Kreikemeier also competed in tie-down roping, performing well in both the long and short rounds with times of 12.2 and 12.7 seconds, respectively, taking sixth and fourth. Those efforts place him tied for second-third in the average right behind Hall, helping give the Aggies the top team score in the event by 130.0 points.

In saddle bronc riding, Riley Stark claimed first in the long-go with 79 points. He averaged out to eighth after recording no score in the short round.

Rustyn Gilmore paired with Slavin in the team roping, where OPSU placed fifth in the short-go with 12.4 seconds to average sixth after an eighth-place long round finish of 8.4 seconds.

Women's Performances
In addition to averaging sixth in the team roping with Gilmore, Slavin took third in the breakaway roping average. The junior from Canadian, Texas, got there by stopping the clock at 2.5 seconds in the long round to tie for sixth-through-eighth, before claiming third in the short-go by recording a time of 3.0 seconds flat.

Falyn Thompson competed in barrel racing, placing fourth in the long round with an impressive time of 13.26 seconds. She finished with a time of 18.58 seconds in finals to average 10th.

What's up next: The NWOSU rodeo marked the final competition for Panhandle State in 2025, as the men's and women's teams continue their championship aspirations in late February 2026 at the Kansas State rodeo.
