SAC Championship Results
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's cross country team rounded out its 2025 season with an eighth-place finish at the SAC Championships hosted by John Brown University on Saturday.
Fielding enough participants to accumulate a team score for the first time this year, the Aggies topped Science & Arts and Central Christian College in the finally tally with a score of 218. RV Oklahoma City took the team title out of 10 SAC squads.
Trevor Youngblood was the first Aggie to complete the race, taking 23rd out of 84 finishers with a time of 27:01.34.
Joshua Samaron was next for OPSU, crossing in 27:47.14 to take 35th.
Bramhan Matschek placed 64th as he clocked a time of 32:00.43, while track runners Alan Martinez and Austin White powered through the finish line to get Panhandle State to eighth overall as a team.
Coach Cyrus Hall's Thoughts …
"I thought Trevor ran pretty solid and Josh ran fantastic," Hall said, adding that he thought Samaron's race was the best of his career.
"Alan and Austin did what we needed them to do. We just said 'Hey, you guys set a pace, try to keep it and finish for us.'"
"Trevor ran about the best race he could run from a race-strategy standpoint, he just couldn't get that ground made up between the 15th spot and where he ended up in 23rd. He fought the whole way, it just wasn't there today," Hall said, commenting on how the warmer weather and slower-than-hoped-for course conditions made an impact.
"To be able to put a full team out here, beat a couple squads is pretty good, but as a coach I've got to get some more recruits in here. … But I'm really proud of the guys, I though they ran hard today."
