GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University Athletics has named track & field's Breyanna Kemp and Xavyer Mosqueda as the Mack's Motorsports Aggies of the Week for Dec. 1-7.
Kemp was electric in the indoor season opener, as she led the Aggies in three different events: the 200-meters with a time of 26.05 seconds, the 60-meters with a time of 8.13 seconds, and lastly the 400-meters, where she broke the program record with a time of 59.71 seconds. Kemp was one of six total Aggies to beat school records, and she did it in dominant fashion as the junior looks to build upon this opening feat in track and field's next meet at the Colorado Classic hosted by the University of Colorado in January.
Mosqueda began his collegiate track & field career this weekend at Washburn University, and it's safe to say he is off to a hot start, as he broke the program shot put record with a distance of 12.71 meters on his second throw of the day. He also participated in the weight throw, recording a top mark of 10.17 meters. Mosqueda, a multi-sport athlete also on the golf team, has certainly set himself up to be a key contributor for OPSU moving forward.
