GOODWELL, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University men's basketball team performed well on Thursday night, earning a 74-68 victory over Oklahoma City University at Anchor D Arena at Oscar Williams Field House.
Amaree Brown led the Aggies with a dominant performance, dropping a game-high 33 points on 12-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Brown also grabbed eight rebounds, recorded one block, and one steal in his 39 minutes on the floor.
Raul Nunez and
Abdulh Diaby each contributed 11 points to the Aggies' total. Nunez hit three of his seven attempts from deep, while Diaby controlled the boards with a team-high nine rebounds and added seven free throws.
Mike Carter and
Jerry Abushanab each chipped in five points, with Carter also securing five rebounds.
The Aggies established their rhythm early, shooting 53.85% from the field in the first half and knocking down six three-pointers to take a commanding lead. They maintained their efficiency in the second half, closing the game with 53.1% shooting from the field overall and 68.4% from the free-throw line.
Defensively, OPSU capitalized on turnovers, scoring 13 points off OCU's mistakes while limiting their errors. The Aggies also held the advantage in points in the paint (32-26) and second-chance opportunities.
