Goodwell, OK. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies women's basketball team put up a determined fight on Thursday night but ultimately fell to the Oklahoma City University Stars, 69-56, in front of their home crowd.
The Aggies fought hard throughout the game but could not overcome a strong second-half surge from the Stars. After trailing 31-21 at halftime, the Aggies showed resilience in the fourth quarter, outscoring Oklahoma City 21-17, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Molly Jones led the Aggies' offensive effort, scoring a team-high 16 points while going 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. Diana Santos recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, demonstrating her presence in the paint. Zamari Reece contributed 13 points off the bench, adding an offensive spark for the Aggies. Jana Radovanovic showcased her ability to draw contact, finishing with seven points and six rebounds while going 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Despite the loss, the Aggies displayed hustle and determination, particularly in the rebounding battle, securing 33 boards against the Stars' physical play. However, turnovers proved costly, as Oklahoma Panhandle State committed 16 giveaways, allowing Oklahoma City to capitalize on key possessions.
