Game 1: Aggies Struggle to Generate Offense in 12-0 Loss
The Aggies could not break through against MACU's pitching in the opening game, recording four hits in the contest. Jackson Somerville, Ryota Kusumoto, Alejandro Hernandez, and Luke Reiter each notched a hit, but the Aggies could not capitalize with runners on base.
Esai Torres (2-5) took the loss on the mound, allowing eight runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings. Josh Doerr and Riley Rivera provided relief, with Rivera tossing three innings and surrendering four runs.
Game 2: Late Push Not Enough in 22-6 Defeat
OPSU struck first in game two, as Ryota Kusumoto launched a two-run homer in the first inning, bringing home Isaiah Halton. However, the MACU offense responded quickly, putting up a nine-run second inning to take control of the game.
The Aggies continued to battle at the plate, with Kusumoto finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a two-run double in the seventh. Xavier Garcia also drove in a run with a double in the fourth, while Noah Murphy-Sealy added an RBI sacrifice fly in the final frame.
On the mound, OPSU rotated through five pitchers in the contest, with Colby Diduch getting the start. Despite their efforts, the Aggie bullpen struggled to contain MACU's relentless offensive attack.
