OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University baseball team wrapped up its series against Mid-America Christian University with a 12-4 loss on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep by the Evangels.
The Aggies came out strong in the first inning, jumping to a quick 4-0 lead. Alejandro Hernandez sparked the offense with a two-run double down the left-field line, bringing home Ryota Kusumoto and Israel Gandara. Xavier Garcia followed up with a two-RBI single to center field, plating Hernandez and Bryan Montano.
However, the Evangels responded immediately in the bottom of the first inning, evening the score at 4-4. They continued to add to their lead throughout the game, scoring in five different innings, including a six-run outburst in the sixth that put the game out of reach for OPSU.
