Goodwell, Okla. – The Aggies baseball faced off against Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU) in a midweek showdown on Monday, falling 12-2 to the Rangers.
Colby Diduch made his ninth start of the season on the mound for the Aggies, going five innings while allowing five runs on five hits, striking out seven, and walking three. Diduch (2-4) took the loss, while relievers Zach Mayhew and Chad Berry combined to finish the game.
Offensively, the Aggies struck first in the opening inning when Ryota Kusumoto scored on a double play ball, giving OPSU a 1-0 lead. The Rangers responded in the third inning with a two-run, putting them ahead 2-1.
The Aggies tied the game in the fourth inning as Chance Wycoff delivered an RBI single to score Luke Reiter, making it 2-2. The Rangers continued their offensive surge, scoring one in the seventh and six more in the eighth to secure the 12-2 victory.
Wycoff led the Aggies' offense with a 2-for-3 performance, driving in one run. Reiter and Kusumoto each recorded a hit and a run scored.
For Northwestern Oklahoma State, Wright had a dominant day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with six RBIs, including a home run and a triple. Ch. Green also contributed with a solo home run in the seventh inning.
