WOODWARD, Okla. — April 15, 2025 — The Aggies baseball team put together a statement performance on Tuesday afternoon, snapping a ten-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of Southern Nazarene University at Fuller Ballpark in Woodward. The Aggies took game one 8-4 and followed it with a 16-11 slugfest win in game two.
Game One: OPSU 8, SNU 4
Colby Diduch pinched the Aggies to a much-needed win in the opener. Diduch (3-5) went five innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out six despite working around five walks and three hit batters. The bullpen tandem of Zach Mayhew and Juan Javier locked it down over the final two frames.
Bill Bonner sparked OPSU's offense with a 2-RBI single in the second inning, followed by a sac fly from Xavier Garcia to give the Aggies a 3-0 lead. After SNU tied it up 4-4 through the fourth, the Aggies roared back in the fifth as Israel Gandara doubled home the go-ahead run. Isaiah Halton and Isaac Young followed with RBI hits to pad the lead.
Ryota Kusumoto and Bryan Montano each added RBI doubles in the sixth to seal the win. Kusumoto finished 2-for-4 with a double, RBI, and a stolen base.
Game Two: OPSU 16, SNU 11
In game two, the Aggies piled up 14 hits and took advantage of two Crimson Storm errors. OPSU jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first and answered every Southern Nazarene rally with timely hitting.
Bryan Montano continued his big day, driving in four runs across both games, including a 2-RBI double in the first inning and another key RBI in the third. Isaac Young, Isaiah Halton, and David Garcia each added multi-hit performances, and the Aggies exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to break the game open for good.
Jace Kushner (1-12) earned his first win of the season in relief, working through a high-scoring affair to help the Aggies secure their 12th win.
