OKLAHOMA CITY — The Sooner Athletic Conference announced Monday its SAC Volleyball Players of the Week for performances from Sept. 15-21, and Oklahoma Panhandle State's Mia Sanchez claimed the top weekly honor for setters for the second time this season and third occasion in her career.
 
Sanchez averaged just shy of 10 assists per set across three matches throughout the week, leading the Aggies to victories in each outing. The senior totaled 119 assists, and she had two assists-digs double-doubles.
 
The Edmond, Oklahoma, native finished with 32 digs while chipping in eight kills, five blocks and two aces.
 
On the season, Sanchez ranks third in the SAC in assists per set at 9.13. Her setting placement has helped OPSU to the third highest hitting percentage (.191) among SAC teams in conference play thus far.
 
Panhandle State (7-7, 5-2 SAC) is in search of its sixth straight victory when it hosts Texas Wesleyan (10-4, 7-0) Friday at 6 p.m.
