Men’s Golf Sits in Fourth Place Through Two Rounds at SCU Invite

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's golf team teed it up at Earlywine Golf Club for the first two rounds of the Southwestern Christian Invitational on Tuesday, where it sits in fourth place with a score of 622, or 46-over-par.
 
Host-Southwestern Christian leads the field with a two-round total of 604, 18 strokes better than the Aggies.
 
OPSU improved from its morning-round 317 to fire a 305 in the afternoon. Worathan Thammachokecharoen spearheaded the turnaround by shooting a one-over 73 in his final 18 holes Tuesday, including a back nine that featured three birdies. He sits in eighth place individually at eight over.
 
Paul Mercado and Thantup Saengvut are both at 10-over for the tournament, as the pair shot second rounds of 75 and 76, respectively, to keep the Aggies in the hunt.
 
Rance Angeley rounded out the contributing scores with matching rounds of nine-over 81, as he finds himself in 28th place overall.
 
OPSU is 10 shots back of third-place Seminole State heading into the final round Wednesday morning.
