GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University has named basketball's Lyric Carpenter and Christian Campbell as the Mack's Motorsports Aggies of the Week to start out the 2026 year, recognizing their performances from Jan. 5-11.
Carpenter tied her season high with eight points in Thursday's outing against RV Science & Arts Oklahoma, and then she recorded her season high in rebounds (nine) in her first start of the season against No. 23 Mid-America Christian. On Thursday, Carpenter played in just 13 minutes, but she was able to put up eight points and three rebounds nonetheless. Earning her way into the starting lineup against the Evangels on Saturday, the forward notched a pair of assists to go with the nine rebounds against the 23rd-ranked team in the nation.
Campbell stayed consistent over the weekend as the Aggies went 1-1, beating USAO but falling just short in the end to MACU. Against the Drovers, Campbell had a stat line of 26 points, four rebounds and four assists in a strong 79-66 victory, the first conference win for OPSU this season. Fast forward to Saturday, Campbell had another 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals against the 12-3 Evangels. Those performances followed a 25-point night last Sunday, Jan. 4, versus Paul Quinn, helping make three straight games for Campbell with at least four made three-pointers. Campbell now averages a team-best 18.4 points per game this season, while his 44 made triples rank tied-34th in the NAIA.
